Join primary and secondary schools all over the UK for a fantastic fortnight focus on British farming and food production.

Check out this fabulous range of national curriculum linked resources and amazing farms near you that families and school groups can visit.

Ages 4 - 6
  • LEAF Education has produced some exciting new resources for every day throughout Farming Fortnight, the landing page comes supplied with teacher notes and guidance on how to deliver inspiring sessions to each key stage that signpost to a range of fantastic links such as videos, YouTube clips and TED talks. 
  • AHDB has produced these Farming Food For You posters to show life on the farm – how animals are reared and cared for, and how crops are grown and harvested. The six posters explore different farming sectors – dairy, beef, sheep, potatoes, cereals and pork.
  • Want to discover more about farming first hand? The annual LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) Open Farm Sunday event is fast approaching on Sunday 11th June. Each free event is unique with its own activities - based around the farm’s own individual story. 


Ages 7 - 11
  • Find out why Wales is one of the most sustainable places to produce red meat with this brilliant Sustainable Farming resource hub produced by Hybu Cig Cymru all about how farmers work in harmony with the environment.
  • Order your free Why Farming Matters Resource pack which has an amazing range of activities linked to the curriculum to encourage pupils to start investigating why farming matters.
  • Find out all the amazing things farmers produce with this Do farmers just Grow food? resource.
Ages 11 - 16
  • AHDB has a range of resources on Food A fact of Life that explains Dairy Farming & Cheese Production in more detail and how it is then processed into cheese with posters, videos, PowerPoint presentation and information sheets to download for the classroom or event.
  • Are you considering a farm visit for your class? Then the Farms Visits Page will tell you everything you need to know to organise a fantastic, fun and unforgettable on-farm experience for your students.
